Research rotations: Matching student and faculty interests

Whenever possible, graduate students are accepted into the Field of Plant Pathology & Plant-Microbe Biology without making a prior commitment to a specific faculty member’s research program. Depending on funding constraints, we encourage students to explore the full range of opportunities in the Field before choosing a research program. Some students will spend 2-3 months in each of several labs (“rotations”) to find out which faculty members and programs best match their interests. Rotations similarly give faculty members the chance to find out which students will be best suited to their programs.
